Noah

Today Noah is one week old. This cute, little girl already had a serious open-heart-surgery when she was 2 days old. It was a "three-steps" surgery and maybe two of those steps have to be redone this week. Please join me in prayer that she does not have to have it.
Her parents attend my church and I wish that through this we and all the world may see the power and glory of our living God.

Alli Gators

Saturday two weeks ago I went to Ikea. I haven't been there for a looong while but as I wanted to buy a frame for the picture I painted for Miss Antje, I thought that'd be the best place to go and find one. All of you who know Ikea can probably remember that they have an area at the end of their exhibition spaces that is only for kids. When I was walking that place I came to pass a rummage table full of ALLIGATORS. I immediately was reminded of a good friend of mine and I took a picture (thanks to cell phone camera I sang about earlier).

The cutest thing about it is the baby Alligator (I don’t know if Mama Alligators carry their babies that way but who cares)!

impressions of my day

This morning (6:33 am) I was 3 minutes late for my bus. And as I had to wait for the next one about 15 minutes I decided to walk. It was such a beautiful mild and fresh morning I couldn't help but take some pictures with my cell phone camera. It's not the best quality but if you try you can feel the awakening of nature and the awakening of the day. DSC00766
The first one is blurry, but that way you can better see the morning colors.
The next one shows some of the beautiful old houses we have here in Wiesbaden. DSC00768-2When I was young I always thought Wiesbaden is boring; but later I took a closer look on the houses…
We had cold and rainy weather during the last couple weeks, so I am really surprised that even so the flowers came out. It’s just like they were waiting for the first sunrays and then burst out. But they’re still sleeping between 6:30 and 7:00 in the morning. Can you see it? (click to enlarge) The lil heads are still closed.DSC00770Later in the afternoon I went to meet Fran; she took me to her hairdresser. Those who read my blog know that I am afraid of those guys, since two of them “ruined” my hairdo. So Fran said I need to meet with her hairdresser. She never goes somewhere else.

DSC00774When I was waiting for the bus to get downtown, I noticed that beautiful princess and her mother. I don’t know her, but she was so delightful, I took some pictures. She was sitting on her mother’s legs and didn’t stop tickling the lady next to her she didn’t know at all. And she had so much fun by doing so!
Later she was like daydreaming and had a pretty serious face… so cute. Finally she kissed her mommy goodbye and went with someone else (I think it was was her daddy).

cute kids in bus

Today when I was sitting in the bus on my way to work a young mommy came in with two sweet little boys. One of them, the older one, maybe 4 years old, sat down right across from my seat (we sat face to face). The younger one didn't want to sit down and just mumbled something like "nooo, I don't wanna" when his mother asked him again to sit down. Without further ado she grabbed him and placed him next to his brother. Immediately he fold down his lower lip, screwed up his eyes and started to raise his voice but his mother kind of yelled at him:"Elias, if you start screaming now, we will get off the bus NOW and walk the whole way down to Kindergarden!" He gasped for breath for two or three seconds and during this time he glanced at me.
I looked at him with my "hey-lil-boy-you-are-actually-not-very-nice" face, what irritated him and he frowned. At that time I changed my facial expression into a very big grin (kids usually can't resist) what irritated him even more.
At this moment I looked to his brother who really couldn't resist and tried hard to refrain from laughing. When I smiled at him, he gave up and smiled back.
Elias, who was observing his older brother and me smiling, suddenly burst out laughing "HAHAHAHAH", very loud (and I mean VERY loud!) so that I couldn't help but laughing, too! (All the people in the bus probably thought I was one sandwich short of a picnic...)

After that happy ending of a not-screaming-toddler-in-the-bus, that little guy didn't stop grinning at me! He showed all his teeth - and that was SO funny I decided to grab my cellphone (comes with a camera) and take a picture.

You should have seen Elias' eyes... They turned big and round and he asked me totally amazed: "did you take my picture??????"
I said: "Yes, I did!"
"Ooohh! Can I see it?"
"Of course!"

The older one: "Take one of me, too!!!" what I did. "Let me see. Oh that's me and him. Can I have one that shows only me?" And the friendly, totally unknown auntie [me] went on taking pictures of totally unknown kids...
Finally I got a really good shot of both, just before we all had to get off the bus.

That experience was so delighting I couldn't stop smiling almost the whole day...

check your child's homework

Canadian first-graders were asked to draw a picture about what they wanted to be when they were grown up.
One of the girls drew this and really shocked her teacher:
The following day the girl brought a note written by her mother that said:
"Dear Miss Davis,
I just want to clarify that my daughter's painting shows me, but not as a dancer in a striptease bar! I work in a hadware store and recently I told my daughter that I earned some extra money after we had a lot of snow storms. The drawing shows me selling snow shovels."

(I got this email today which really amused me...)

Daisy - absolutely exhausted!

30 minutes ago I started to play with Daisy. I probably overdid a little - but she loved it so much and didn't want to stop! She really likes to run after little pieces... After 15 minutes she gasped so heavily for breath - like a little dog -, that I stopped to give her some time to relax. When I finally had my camera prepared, she was actually doing better

Sometimes God acts really fast

So this story doesn't start pleasant but it has an astounding end and so I want to share it. Ok, here comes the aggravating part:
Maybe six weeks ago my cat, Romeo, started to linger in front of my apartment door, clearly showing that he wanted to go out. As I am living in the middle of the city, a big road passing my house plus Romeo has never been out since he was seven weeks old, I do not want him to go out. But then, when he found that "whining" and meowing wouldn't help, he started to pee on the corridor floor every second or third day. So I had the "fun" business to clean a lot and one night I was really desperate about the situation.

Wednesday a week ago (October 22nd) I had a vet's appointment with Romeo because it was time for his annual vaccination. I told him about my stinky problem, too, and the vet had some good suggestions, like having a second litter pan put on the place where the cat used to "pee extra".
Another suggestion was: "You should have another cat, but a young female, to keep him company."

"Sure!" I thought, inwardly rolling my eyes. "Of course! Where should I suddenly get a young female cat from???"

Later in the evening I prayed: "Lord, if you really want me to have another young female cat, you have to bring it to my front door. I have no idea where to get a cat so you have to take care for it if it is your will."
And I didn't think about it any longer.

Three days later. Saturday.
A friend of mine, Miss A. and her husband Mr. T. were celebrating both their birthdays. (In Germany the person who wants to celebrate his/her birthday has to organize the party or whatever by him/herself). And they had asked me to come an join them a couple of weeks ago. We haven't seen each other for a long time for they live in Cologne. I first had promised to go there and stay for the weekend (Oct. 24th-26th) but when I learned that my cat has the problem I told you in the beginning, I didn't want to stay out of the house for 3 days. Plus, I was pretty exhausted because it was the weekend following my first week back at work after an unintended break of 28 weeks. Not to forget I was forced to take the train which would take me 4 hours to get there...
I prayed again and said: "Lord, I don't want to go - I really want to see my friends, but... well, you know... but I feel you want me to go so please, let it be to your glory!" My idea was at least to go and show my friend and her husband the love of God and share the gospel. So I went on Saturday and wanted to go back home at the same day.

When I got there, the first "thing" I saw was my friend's little cat "Daisy"! The lil one was jumping up and down and I couldn't help but shout "how cute is she?!"
And Miss A. said, "YES, she is super cute, but you know, Mr. T. has some allergies and 2 nights ago he could hardly breathe! You should have heard the weird noises when he tried to breathe, I was really concerned about him. And today I was almost crying but I think we are forced to give Daisy away...!
"I could take her, " I said in impulse.

"Are you serious???"

"Well, I don't want to take your cat away, but hear what the vet said 3 days ago... blah blah..."

"Okay, let's go the whole hog: you stay here for the night and tomorrow we will give you a ride home and you can take Daisy with you."

I didn't know what to say and I was not even sure if that was the right thing to do... But then I remembered my prayer which was like "God, if you want, you have to bring a young female cat to my front door" and here was Miss A. offering to bring the cat not only to my front door but also right into my apartment.
It was also ok to stay one night in Cologne 'cause my mom agreed come to my house and take care of Romeo (thanks mom!).

And the miracle went on.

When Romeo and Daisy met the first time they just snuffled and nosed each other. Ok, Romeo, who is not used to have another cat around him, seemed to be nervous first but two days later he tolerated her being close to his blanket..

And two more days later, it was so cute to watch Daisy trying to get closer to Romeo!

Decreasing space between the two cats

And this is my favorite picture!
By the way:
Saturday, when all the guests were at my friend's house, we had not so much time to talk... But when Miss A. and Mr. T. decided to give me a ride home because of the cat, we had about an hour in the car, a great time to talk... which gave me the opportunity to share some stories about my life with God, that He answeres my prayers and that He loves them, too, and longs for a personal relationship with them!

It was a holy moment.

I love my new "missionary cat", lil 6-months-old Daisy!

Not to forget to mention: I didn't need to clean my floor for some "cat-accident" reason for almost two weeks!

Introducing Romeo

Since nine days I've got a new room-mate and in between he is unrestricted (well, almost) ruler of this apartment:

a curious, tigerish, cute cuddle-cat.

When I have to work in the kitchen he climbs my legs until I take him and hold him in one of my arms so that he can watch what I am doing.

When I work at the computer he jumps at my back and climbs to my shoulder to watch from there.

The other day I was standing in the bathroom at the sink - the same. Within seconds he jumps at my legs and runs to my shoulder by climbing my back.

That probably sounds cute and funny (it actually is) but may I remind you of those little sharp-as-a-needle baby-claws? But when he is getting tired after playing and wants to sleep on my arm, purring like a world champion, the pain is almost forgotten.

Billy and his new swim suit

When I came home from the restaurant later in the evening I chatted with my sister online. After a while she said: Billy has a new swim suit and he didn't want to take it off; but he fell asleep in my arms...

I asked her to turn the webcam on...:

Cat Babies

Thursday evening I went to a family that has 4 cats. One of them had babies two weeks ago and I am considering to take one... I am not quite sure because the lady seemed a little bit weird to me as she mentioned she feeds her cats only with minced meat, tuna, chicken breast etc. I think you can feed something like that as goody, not regularly. Another thing is she doesn't want to give the cats away before they're 12 weeks old.
But I know that it is no problem to separate the babies from the 6th week on (when they can eat and drink alone) which would go best with my schedule. So I need to talk to that lady again and if she insists on only give them away at 9th of July I sadly will have to refuse...
